Clifton Raymond Rist, 81, of Bountiful, passed away August 19, 2004 at Lakeview Hospital, from the effects of a more than ten year struggle with Alzheimer's. Cliff was born June 23, 1923, in Union, Utah, to General L. and Stella Heusser Rist. He graduated from Jordan High School, and served in the Navy aboard the USS Colorado during World War II. He married Madeline Pettit, in 1944. She preceded him in death in 1967. He married Mettie Anderson Butters in 1968. Cliff worked for the railroad, and for Transamerica Insurance as a claims adjuster. He enjoyed working with his hands, and his family will always treasure the many things he lovingly made for them. He was always willing and happy to help anyone. Survived by his wife, Mettie, daughters; Kathie (Richard) Sodders, Sandra (Gregory) James, stepchildren; Scott (Bernadene) Butters, Kaylinne (Delroy) Reed, Aleese (Russell) Walker, Collette (Ken) Baldwin, 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Cliff is also survived by his two brothers G. Leland (Rhoda) Rist and Louis Rist. Funeral services held Thursday August 26, 2004 at Russon Brothers. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
