MRS. CHARLOTTE OSTERHAUS. Mrs. Charlotte Osterhaus, 85, died at her home at Petersburg, Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the home to SS Peter and Paul Church, Petersburg, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Osterhaus was born in Reading, PA, Feb. 9, 1860, a daughter of August and Charlotte Forester. She came to Iowa when nine years old and was married to Joseph Osterhaus, of Petersburg, on Feb. 4, 1879.
She is survived by five sons, Henry and Joseph, both of Bloomington, Wis.; Frank, Petersburg, IA.; Matt, Dubuque, IA., and Al, Dyersville, IA; six daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Krapfl, Mrs. Henry Bohlke, and Martha, all of Dyersville; Mrs. Henry Wegmann, Bloomington, WIs., and Mrs. Joseph Bagge and Mrs. Joseph Witte, both of Petersburg, IA; five sisters; Mrs. John Dreir, Boone, IA; Mrs. John Willenbring, Dyersville; and Mrs. Henry Kramer, Mrs. Anton Warborg, and Mrs. Bernard Bohlke, all of Remson, IA; 63 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, two sisters and one brother."
