Born May 28, 1910, at Backus he was the son of the late John Henry and Dorthea Ward Osborn.
Mr. Osborn was a 10-year coal miner, a 40 year railroad employee, with the maintenance of Way department until he retired in 1971. He was a member of the maintenance of Way Brotherhood in Hinton.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mae Newton Osborne; three daughters, Shirley A. Bryant of Rockville, Md., Betty L. Folcomer of Mt. Airy, Md., Martha A. Keyes of Frankfurt, Germany; two sons, Keith M. Osborn of Thurmont, Md., Stanley E. Osborn of Temple Hills, Md.; two sisters, Lana Lewis of Mabscott, Sadie Baughn of Oakhill, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Thurmont Funeral Home of Robert E. Dailey and Son, 615 East Main Street, Thurmont, Md., with the Rev. Neil R. Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens near Frederick, Md.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
Any donations of sympathy should be made to the Mid Maryland Lung Association.
