Mrs. Joe Tom Kennedy, 72, died at 3 a. m. Wednesday, August 23, at her home in the Chicken Creek community after a long illness. She had been an invalid for about seven years since suffering an accidental gunshot wound in which a bullet struck her spine and left her paralyzed.
Funeral services will be conducted at Bennett-May Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. J. E. Trotter, the Rev. A. R. Hogan and the Rev.Wesley Holden.
A native of Nashville, Mrs. Kennedy was the former Miss Margaret Florence Capps, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Elizabeth Romine Capps. She had been an active member of Trinity Methodist Church for many years.
Her husband wrote the Popular Farmer Jo column for The Pulaski Citizen for a number of years.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Kennedy is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Randall Wofford of Stewardson, Ill.; a sister, Miss Cora Capps of Giles County; two grandsons and a granddaughter.
