Richard Glenn Fly, age 69, of Water Valley, MS died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his home. Born to the late Henry and Gladys Colter Fly in Coffeeville, MS, he was lovingly raised by his second mother, Ophelia Fly after the early death of his mother. Richard was a machine operator at Borg Warner for 29 years, an avid hunter and fisherman, and was an enthusiastic fan of the Atlanta Braves. He was fond of playing bingo, and looked forward to his many visits to the Smoky Mountains. Richard faithfully attended services at Goshen Memorial Chapel and also attended Camp Ground Baptist Church.

Services will be held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks at 2 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 with Bro. David Ross officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow at Camp Ground Cemetery with Daniel Ross, Tim Hughes, Frank Cadena, Calvin Phillips, Buddy Neal, and Billy Pilcher serving as pallbearers.

In addition to his father and both mothers, he was preceded in death by a brother, Benton Gale Fly.

Survivors include his wife, Gail McCullar Fly of Water Valley, MS; a daughter, Cindy Fly of Water Valley, MS; one sister, Virginia (Jimmy) Woods of Duck Hill, MS; three brothers, David (Maybell) Fly of Senatobia, MS, Henry Dale (Kathleen) Fly of Water Valley, MS, and Kenneth (Mary Linda) Fly of Tillatoba, MS; and two granddaughters, Atlanta Gayle Griffin and Karlee Lynn Griffin, both of Water Valley, MS.
