Dorothy Anderson, age 90, of Albion, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her residence. She was born in 1922 to Lewis and Bessie Doty in Albion, Michigan. She was a 1940 graduate of Albion High School (Washington Gardner High School). In 1954 she married Arthur Anderson who preceded her in death. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for Albion College for several years. She worked for Knuth Furniture, Bell Telephone in Jackson and Union Steel and Youngs Clothing Store. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albion, where she was a former secretary for the church, St. Paul's Friendship League, American Legion Auxiliary and Hospital Service League.

Dorothy is survived by: Niece, Patricia Sleeper of Albion; nephews, Russell Hakes of Battle Creek, and Philip Doty; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Arthur; brother, Victor; and a sister, Ilah Clarke.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, July 20, 2012 at 9 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Boulevard, Albion with Pastor Dennis W. Matyas Officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.

Assistance with Memorial Contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church (Pre School or Scholarships) is available at the funeral home.
