PIONEER CLAY CO., BANKER IS DEAD KANSAS CITY, Kas., July 19---John S. Major, 80, pioneer of Clay County, Mo., banker, and officer and trustee of William Jewell College, died at a hospital here today. Major was president of the First National Bank of Liberty, treasurer of William Jewell, and secretary and treasurer of the board of trustees of the college. He was the father of Dr. Ralph Herman Major, dean of the Kansas University Medical School unit at Bell Memorial Hospital.
