"OBITUARY
MRS ELIZABETH EXTON
Mrs. Elizabeth Exton, widow of the late Adam Exton, died suddenly in Philadelphia, this morning. Mrs Exton had been in that city on a visit and was at the home of a relative when she died. She was well known in Trenton and was about 70 years of age. Taylors' Sons will have charge of the funeral."
Trenton Evening Times, March 25, 1894:
"Mrs. Elizabeth Exton wife of the late Adam Exton, died Thursday in Philadelphia, where she had gone for treatment under Dr. Goodell. For a short time she improved encouragingly, but Bright's disease developing, proved fatal. Mrs. Exton led a quiet life, being devoted to her home and children, but her interests were broad and influential. Mrs. Exton was the daughter of Henry and
Ann Aspden and niece of John and Joseph Whittaker, old and highly respected citizens of Trenton. She leaves five daughters, four of whom are married, as follows: Mrs. Charles Y. Bamford, Mrs. William H. Brokaw, Mrs. Wesley C. Owens and Mrs. Benjamin [sic] H. Bainbridge. The latter lives in Philadelphia, where the mother was visiting when she died. Mrs. Exton leaves a valuable estate."
