Jodie Raymond Pryor, 80, passed away on May 14, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by 3 children, Cheri Wally, Bill Strain and Jody Rae Vossler.

He is survived by his wife, June; daughters, Kari Morelock, Ruth Herod and husband Robert, Myrle Waller and husband Gordon and daughter-in-law, Taka Strain; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his friend and companion Doris Freund.

Jodie was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Navy on the USS Toledo.

For many years, he owned and operated Jodie's Boats & Motors, a marine engine repair business. Jodie was a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer since 1965 when he helped form the Can-Do Marine Rescue Service working from the Texas City Dyke. In 1970, he graduated from COM Law Enforcement and served with the Galveston County Sheriff's Marine Division for 8 years. He served as Deputy Constable and then Constable for Precinct 7, Galveston County for over 20 years. He was a member of the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Post 291, VFW Post 8566 and was awarded Citizen of the Year in 1994.

He had an exemplar career of serving his country and community with love and respect.

Jodie was in the Navy during the Korean War. He was the "little" brother to three sisters he towered over in height. He brought each one of them special gifts from overseas. He was so emotional that he avoided goodbyes. He was a good man and special Uncle.EM3 US NAVY
