MITCHELL: Flora Betty Mitchell, 57, a lifelong resident of Grant County, died Tuesday at home. She was born July 31, 1931, in Gila at home. She was an office manager for 1 1/2 years at Yucca Ford and a member of the third ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Silver City. Presiding at the services will be Bishop Chuck Hamilton. Interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Mitchell of Arenas Valley; two sons, Kenneth Kingston of Lubbock, Texas, and Dwight Mitchell of Wright, Wyo.; three daughters, Jamie Rowland of Silver City, Geri Vaughn of Mimbres and Shelly Kimmick of Silver City; and 13 grandchildren, Krystyn Kingston, Kelly Kingston, Merrie Kae Mitchell, Melodie Mitchell, Raymond Mitchell, James Rowland, Margaret Rowland, Kenneth Rowland, Serena Rowland, Elizabeth Rowland, Paul Vaughn, Jeremy Vaughn and Daniel Vaughn. Pallbearers will be Kelly Howell, Haskell Howell, Dale Fuentes, Ray Fuentes, Bob Kimmick and Earl Steele. Arrangements are by the Wheeler Funeral Home.
