Mrs. Thirza Hoag, 86, Dies in Binghampton

Quaker Street, March 8 – Mrs. Thirza Hoag, 86, formerly a resident of this village where her father, Abram Wemple was an undertaker, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Daniels in Binghampton. Mrs. Hoag was born in Schenectady, but had lived many years in Quaker Street before going to Binghamton, where she had resided for the past 35 years.

Mrs. Hoag's parents were the late Abram and Evelyn A. Wemple. Her husband, Ira Hoag, died about 25 years ago.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Perry H. Bennett of Milford; Mrs. Fred Daniels, Binghampton; one great grandson, William Daniels Jr., Binghamton; a sister, Mrs. John C Briggs, Quaker Street, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the home of John C Briggs in Quaker Street. Burial will be in Grove cemetery

Funeral service was held Friday in Quaker Street, near Schenectady, for Mrs. Thirza Wemple Hoag, 87, widow of Ira Hoag and the mother of Mrs. J. Fred Daniels of 71 Tompkins street, at whose homo she died Tuesday.
A resident of Binghamton for 43 years, Mrs. Hoag had been blind for 15 years. She was a lifelong member of the Christian church In Quaker Street.
Besides Mrs. Daniels, Mrs, Hoag Is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Perry R. Bennett of Milford,
two grandsons and a great grandson.
Funeral was at the home of Mrs. Hoag's sister, Mrs. J. C. Brlggs
