Ralph L. "Butch" Weckerly, age 64, of Kittanning, PA., died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 24, 1947 in Harrison Twp., Allegheny Co., PA to Ralph Lewis and Martha Jane (Fox) Weckerly. Butch was a lifetime resident of the area and worked in law enforcement, serving New Bethlehem Borough, Cowanshannock Twp. and East Franklin Twp., and also serving as the chief for Elderton; he was also formerly employed at Pullman Standard. Currently Butch served as the constable for East Franklin Twp., a position he held for the last 16 years, and was the Owner and President of Golden Eagle Security and Investigations, Inc. for 27 years. Butch was involved with the Armstrong County Historical Society and, along with his wife, oversaw the organization's newsletter. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #805. His favorite times were those spent with his family. Butch enjoyed traveling to Lancaster with his wife, MaryAlice, where they always made time to visit Miller's Amish Buffet. He especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and foster grandchildren; they were the light of his life. Those who knew Butch will never forget his kind spirit, the help he gave to others in need and how he was always there for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, MaryAlice (Bennett) Weckerly; son, George LeRoy Weckerly and wife Donna; daughter, Crystal Lynn Cowan and husband David all of Kittanning; grandchildren, Jessica Brisbin and husband, Matthew, Nicholas Weckerly, Franklin Cowan, Cory Cowan, Heather Cressler, Keyonna Cressler, Gage, Cody and Blake; expecting first great-grandchild, Collin James LeRoy Brisbin; step-grandchild, Adam Beers; Gage Darney and many foster grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends will be received from 1 - 4 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA. Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, July 16, 2012 with the Rev. Robert Burns officiating. Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pennsylvania.
