He was married to Miss Mattie Estelle Rouse and the entire family were members of the Baptist church. Mr. Baker was also a member of the Lions Club.

In addition to his son, M.A. Baker, Jr., of Houston, he is survived by a brother, James Baker of Fairfield.

Mrs. Baker was born October 3, 1917 in Winkler, the daughter of Lucias and Mayme Rouse. She was a member of the Philomathian Club of Newgulf.
