Judy Gail Barker, 57, of Sevierville, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center.

During her life, Judy was a member of the Waldens Creek United Methodist Church where she was very active. An alumnus of Hiwasse College, she loved to play the piano and sing. She was recognized in the area for her musical talent. For many years, Judy was active in the Coalition of Appalachian Ministry and through this ministry she earned the respect and love of many crafts people throughout the nation.

Waiting for Judy to join them in Heaven is her daughter, Jennifer Leigh Barker; parents, Marshall and Geneva Perryman Fox.

Leaving behind to mourn her passing is her husband Bill C. Barker; daughter, Mary Christina Barker; brothers, William R. Fox and wife Mary Hester, H. Eddie Fox and wife Mary Nell; mother-in-law, Esta Lee Rogers; brother-in-law, Steve Barker and wife Connie; sister-in-law, Joan Marmon and husband Ken; nephews, Robert Gordan Fox, Andrew Lee Fox, A. Gibson Fox; Thomas E. Fox, H. Timothy Fox, Sam Marmon, Steve Marmon, Gregg Marmon, Kenny Marmon, and Stephen Barker; nieces, Gaye Nell Heck, Melanie Barker and Jessica Barker. Besides the immediate family, many other relatives and a host of friends whose lives has been touched by Judy will miss her. Judy said when she went to join her loved ones and her Lord to remember the good times, joyous memories, and celebrate her memory.

A celebration of Judy's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005 at Waldens Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. David G. Smith and Rev. Barbara Lay officiating the celebration. Members of the Waldens Creek United Methodist Church will serve as pallbearers. Judy will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
