GREEN COUNTY KENTUCKY OBITUARY – 1998
Olive Gertrude Beard Davenport, age 86, a resident at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home, departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 1998, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital. She was born in Green County on March 25, 1912, to the late Clem Beard & Nancy Wade Beard. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Davenport. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Shirrell of Greensburg; 1 son, Joe Davenport of LaGrange; 3 brothers, Abel Beard and Clem Taylor Beard of Greensburg, and Lucian Beard of Illinois; 2 sisters, Margaret Tucker of Florida and Pearl McGinnis of Greensburg; 1 granddaughter, Sherry Shirrell; 2 step-grandchildren, Mark Brizendine and Lisa Brizendine; and 1 great-grandchild, Ben Brizendine. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 2, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Dale Curry officiated over the service with music provided by Betty Jo Larimore. Pallbearers were Billy H. Squires, Arlie Wilson, Sonny Pickett, Doug Pickett, Joe Davis and Eugene Coffey.
