Passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at her home, Baraga Manor. Roberta was born March 10, 1937 in Plainwell, to Arthur and Helen (Burroughs) Lent. A graduate of Plainwell High School, she was employed for many years with Plainwell Paper Co., and then with Parker Hannifin Co., retiring in 1998. Some of her favorite activities included playing cards, reading, bowling, eating and playing Cribbage at G. C. Bean & Co., and watching game shows and movies. She especially enjoyed horses, dogs and cats. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Cheyne of Plainwell; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; a sister, Joyce Croy of Columbus, OH; a brother, Charles Lent of Otsego; a brother-in-law, Harold Linsley of Gun Lake; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Willis, her cat. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 sisters, Donna Swartz, Margaret Harmon Linsley and Olive Ash. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Winkel Funeral Home Otsego
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church of Otsego. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell. Donations in her memory may be made to an education fund for her granddaughter, Elizabeth Jade Cheyne, through Fifth Third Bank, Otsego branch.
