Mr. Willaim Howard Boney, 91, died peacefully Thursday at his home.

Mr. Boney, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Lena Florence Alderman Boney and Horace Lucas Boney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Carnett Boney, a sister, Kathleen Boney Norris, and a great grandchild, Bindi Boney. He was a graduate of Roseboro High School and a lifelong member of White Oak Baptist Church. He lived his entire life on what is now Bonnettsville Road. During World War II he served four and one half years in the US Navy,the majority of which he spent aboard the USS Davison in the Mediterranean Sea. He was a dedicated, lifelong farmer and continued to work on the family farm until one year prior his death.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Register Boney, two sons, Durwood Boney and wife Judy and Richard Boney and wife Tricia all of Clinton, three daughters, Joan Georghiou and husband George of Virginia Beach, VA; Linda Simmons and husband Glenn of Wendell, and Carol Johnson and husband Nelson of Kinston, eight grandchildren, Brandon Boney and wife Belinda, Clint Boney and wife Melissa, Clay Boney, Garrett Boney, April Harbaugh and husband Jason, Ashley Capps, Alex Georghiou and Ava Johnson, and six great grandchildren.

The family received friends from 1:30-3pm prior services at the church.

The funeral services were held at 3pm, Sunday, May 27, 2012 at White Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Porter officiating.

Burial was made in the Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton, NC.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Tammy Pridgen, Carolyn Faison and the staff of Liberty Hospice.

The family entrusted the care of Mr. Boney to the Royal-Hall Funeral Home of Clinton, NC.
