Son of Alfred (1836-1901) and Hannah Maria (LNU) Eldred.

His second wife was Ethel McRorie (1885-1953), widow of Adelbert J. Sponable and daughter of Alfred and Mattie L. (Goodman) McRorie. She had one daughter, Matilda, by her first husband. She is buried under her maiden name.
