Prominent Farmer Died Last Wed.
Funeral services for John Aman, prominent Richlands merchant and farmer were held
at Piney Grove Baptist Church last Friday afternoon with interment following in the
church cemetery. Rev. Alvis Whitted, Richlands minister officiated at the services.
This prominent Onslow county citizen died at his Richlands home Wednesday
afternoon of last week. He was 82 years of age.
The deceased is survived by two daughter; Mrs. A. A. Gurganus, Jacksonville; Mrs. J.
H. Walton, Lyons, Ga.; three sons, John Aman, Jacksonville, and Frank and Arnold Aman
of Richlands.
Grandsons and sons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were: Dr. G. E.
Gurganus, J. Edward Eubanks, J. C. Cole, Frank, John and Raymond Aman
