DAVENPORT — Joseph A. Hueser, 88, a resident of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at his residence in Davenport.
Burial in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, with graveside military services.
Joseph Anthony Hueser was born on December 12, 1923, in Davenport, a son of Stephen and Theresa (Boeckmann) Hueser. He married Marjorie M. Ingwersen on October 22, 1954, in Davenport. Joseph served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a machinist and inspector at J.I. Case for 20 years and at the Rock Island Arsenal for 22 years.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, as well as the Elks and the Eagles clubs. He volunteered delivering Holiday Food Baskets for St. Anthony's for many years. Joseph enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting, and fishing and his Hawkeyes.
Memorials may be made to either St. Anthony Holiday Baskets or Café on the Vine.
Surviving Joseph are his wife, Marjorie, Davenport; children, Stephen Hueser, (special friend Deborah Hutton), Muscatine, Suzanne (John) Riepe, Davenport, Christine (Joe) Wisong, Davenport, and Jeffrey Hueser, Washington, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Joscelyn Welshons, Buffalo; five grandchildren, Tara (Ken) Newberry, Moline, Josh (Lynn) Wisong, Davenport, Kyle (Brianna) Riepe, Davenport, Rachel Hueser, Ames, Iowa, and Colin Hueser, Ames; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul Hueser, Mary Ash, Theresa Guy, Joan Gruenwold and Rosemary Ehlers, all of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Richard, Arnold, Hubert and Walter Hueser, Jean Miller, Catherine Bein, and Rita Havacks. May they rest in peace.
