Norma Thomas "Buddy" Agerton, age 77, Fayette, AL. passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007, at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Born on Sept. 21, 1930, in Jasper, she was the daughter of the late A.C. and Merle McLemore Thomas. She was retired from the First National Bank and a member of the Fayette First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Fayette with burial in the Fayette City Cemetery. Bro. Scott Davis was the officiating minister.
Survivors include her husband - A.V. Agerton; daughter - Sherry (David) Corbett, Winfield; step-daughter - Linda (Sammy) Renfroe, Fayette; sister - Faye (Phil) Ouellet, Mechanicsburg, Penn.; grandson - David Corbett; step-granddaughters - April (Brent) Tolbert, Calera, and Christy (Keith) Birmingham, Bessemer; two great-grandsons; one niece; and several nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Oscar L. and Carroll M. Thomas, and sister, Doris T. Jeffries.
Active pallbearers were Jeff Ouellet, Bill Jefferies, Oscar L. and Chris Thomas, and Damon Ligon. Honorary pallbearers were retired working family members from the First National Bank; A.M., Jr., and Alva Grimsley, Carlton Benton, Bobbie Bobo, Wilma Dooley, Sue Cargile, Lorraine Whitley, Betty Newman, Ann Holsenback, Sissy Jefferies, Polly Howard, and Helen Baker.
