In 1927, she entered St. Cecilia Convent, where she received the Dominican habit in 1928 and professed vows in 1929. Sister Cecilia worked in education for more than 50 years, teaching English and journalism in schools in Virginia, Tennessee, and Ohio. She taught at Holy Name School, Assumption School, Overbrook School, and St. Cecilia Academy, all in Nashville, as well as in Clarksville. She also served as principal at schools in Ohio and St. Paul School in Tullahoma, TN. She served as Librarian at Aquinas College from 1968 to 1987. Previously, she was superior of Notre Dame Convent in Chattanooga, TN, for six years.
She was survived by two sisters who are also members of St. Cecilia Congregation, Sister Francis Bernard Lynch and Sister Antoninus Lynch.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Cecilia Convent on February 24 with Bishop James D. Niedergeses presiding. Burial followed in the convent cemetery.
