A. Reid Venable, 90, founder of the seed and feed firm of Carter-Venable Co., died Sunday, at a local hospital.

Mr. Venable, lived at 7 Oak Lane. He was born on Indepence Day, in 1870, in Prince Edward County. For 14 years Mr. Venable was with the firm of S.T.Beverage & Company, and left to form Carter-Venable, in 1897.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janie Schone Venable, a daughter, Mrs. A. Norman Webb of Baltimore, and Miss Jennie Venable, of Farmville, four Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Tuesday, at Grace and Trinity Church.
Burial will be in the Hollywood Cemetery.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
