Born on the family farm in Gibson (Township) of Manitowoc County, WI; Emil was the second of eight children (five sons & three daughters) born to Frank & Mary (Vondras) Kerch).
On 13 June 1911, Emil married Josephine "Josie" Stangel at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills, WI; he was age 26, she was 22. They had one son, Rudolph S. (1913-1998) who grew up to be ordained as a Catholic priest & for 38 years served as the pastor of Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Stangelville, WI.
A hard-working, successful family farmer, husband & father of one, Emil died at age 72.
