Helen B. Shebesta of 2408 Paul Road, Manitowoc, died on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
She was born on August 22, 1919 in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Anna (Folk) Bouril. Helen was a graduate of Kewaunee High School, Class of 1938. She then was a graduate of the LeClair Beauty School of Milwaukee. On November 20, 1943 she married Alfred J. Shebesta at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1979. Helen was employed as a tour guide and receptionist at the Point Beach Nuclear Energy Center at Two Rivers, WI for 18 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the Daughters of Isabella, the St. Clare Society, the Manitowoc Senior Center and the Wisconsin CZECH, Inc. Helen was also a past Eucharist Minister of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Manitowoc, and a past member of the Manitowoc Eagles Auxiliary Aerie #706, Manitowoc - Two Rivers YMCA, and also a past member of the Lamplighters Dance Club. Helen enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: James A. & Lynn Shebesta, Verona, WI, Gary L. Shebesta, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Jeffrey (Kate) Shebesta, Indiana, Kevin (Sarah) Shebesta, Ohio, Paige Elizabeth Shebesta and Spencer Shebesta, both of Green Bay; three great-grandchildren: Emily Jalynn Shebesta, Caleb Joseph Shebesta and Aaron James Shebesta; one brother and one sister-in-law: Joseph & Delva Bouril, Kewaunee, Dorothy Bouril, Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Shebesta Kent, Manitowoc,, Manitowoc; and a brother-in-law: Donald Shebesta, Mishicot. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Bouril.
Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William Van Dynhoven with burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Tisch Mills at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
