Harold Bresnahan, 89, of Northfield, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Three Links Care Center. Harold Charles Bresnahan was born Oct. 14, 1911, to Andrew and Mettie Blackman Bresnahan, in Northfield. He graduated from Northfield High School in 1930. On Jan. 13, 1935, he married Florence Fox in Stanton. He and his wife owned and operated resorts in Pequot Lakes, Fifty Lakes and Park Rapids for a number of years. They spent the winter months in Florida for many years. He also was a painter for Carleton and St. Olaf colleges. Fishing and hunting were among his favorite pastimes. Bresnahan is survived by his wife; sons, Harlan (and Marlene), and Luverne (and Mary Ann), both of Northfield; a daughter, Shirley (and Granville) Grant of Northfield; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Merle. Services were held June 12 in the chapel at Three Links Care Center, the Rev. Jerry Markel officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Andrew, Michael and Jeff Bresnahan, Darin Grant, Rick Johnson and Charles Ewaldt. Honorary pallbearers were Julie Johnson, Amy Ewaldt, Nicole Dastoor, Tonya Petty, Laura McManus and Jane Bresnahan. Arrangements were made by Bierman Funeral Home.
