Marjorie Emmalene Anderson Frutiger, 84, of 1389 Highway 343 North, South Mills, NC died Monday June 18, 2012 in the Winslow Memorial Home. She was born on October 2, 1927 to the late Clarence McConnell Anderson and Mary Novella Felts Anderson. She was the widow of the late Aloy D. Frutiger. Mrs. Frutiger was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from Albemarle Hospital after 17 years where she was a Charge Nurse for the Newborn Nursery and cared for thousands of newborn babies during her nursing career. She received her ADN/RN nursing degree from the first Associate Degree Nursing Program at The College of the Albemarle. Mrs. Frutiger was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church in South Mills, NC and was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the South Mills Chapter #270 Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves behind many friends and a legacy of kindness to others.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Gayle Frutiger Eason and husband, Jimmy, of South Mills, NC; two sons, Arnold Dewane Frutiger and wife Pam, of Greenville, NC and Darrell Eugene Frutiger and wife Erika, of Wake Forest, NC; and a sister, Bonnie Sue Williams of Joelton, TN. Also, surviving are 12 grandchildren, Angela Delane Frutiger Clark and husband Walter, James Craig Eason and wife Charlene, Hyla Novella Frutiger Ammons and husband John, Susan Carole Eason Hardouin and husband Benny, Leslie Meghan Frutiger, Jaime Elaine Eason Bailey and husband Tab, Anderson Carder Frutiger and wife Meranda, Morgan JoRay Frutiger, Perry McLean Frutiger, Marlayna Suzanne Frutiger and Macy Leigh Frutiger. Also, survived by 12 great grandchildren, Cody Garrett Eason and fiancé Taylor, Emilee Paige Eason, James Christopher Eason, John Carlson Ammons, Annie Delane Ammons, Carlie Brumsey Ammons, Isabella Graham Clark, Mabel Madeline Clark, Eason Patrick Hardouin, Emmalene Grace Hardouin, Thomas Amos Bailey IV, and Aidan Ray Bailey; and one great-great grandchild, Sadie Kay Eason. Also, she is survived by two nieces, Anita Murphy and Nova Birdwell, a sister-in-law, Peggy Frutiger West and a very special daughter-in-law and friend, Madeline Brumsey. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hawkins Frutiger.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 22, 2012, at 11:00am in the Sharon United Methodist Church, South Mills, NC by Rev. David Heath. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 at Twiford Funeral Home, Church Street, and at other times at the home. The family suggests memorial donations be made in memory of Mrs. Frutiger to the Sharon United Methodist Church, 249 Keeter Barn Road, South Mills, NC, 27976. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
