Her father mustered into the Union Army on December 22, 1863 and died just 8 days later. Her mother married again to Richard D. Wright on January 25, 1868.
As of the June 1, 1900 census she and husband Hugh M. Downey had been married for six years. She had given birth to two children, one of whom was living.
Her death certificate listed arteriosclerosis and senility as causes of death.
She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery on Janaury 12, 1946.
