WILLIAMSTON – John Marshall Clardy, 80, of 209 Ridgecrest Way, husband of Betty Louise Roper Clardy, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Willie Bennett and Maggie Dale Hall Clardy.
He retired from Anderson County School District 1 and Lance, Inc. and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church in Belton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Kathy Rebecca (Barry) Bailey, of Hartwell, GA, Connie Elizabeth (Keith) Looper, of Fort Mill, and Myra Anne (David) Wells, of Williamston; sons, Ronald Jackie (Sharon Knight) Clardy and John Randall (Beverly) Clardy, both of Williamston, and David Marshall (Ann) Clardy, of Lexington; brother, Stanley Hall Clardy, of Williamston; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, William Bennett Clardy.
Visitation will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Whitefield Baptist Church with funeral services following at eleven o'clock with Pastor Danny Singleton and Pastor Frank Fuller officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. The family is at the home.
