Thomas "Tom" Delbert Ableman, 92, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away July 1, 2013, at Silver Wood Good Samaritan in Silverton. He was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Spokane, Wash.; Tom was the son of Claude Delbert and Anna Cecelia (Donohue) Ableman.
Tom moved to the Silver Valley in 1975 from Spokane. He married Betty Batts on March 26, 1976 at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Betty passed away on Dec. 28, 2006.
Tom was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge and a member of the Operating Engineers. He loved and enjoyed golfing, traveling and watching sports on T.V.
Tom is survived by two children, Gary Ableman of Spokane and Linda Hargreaves of Spokane; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters Elizabeth Sprague of Seattle, Wash., and Margarite Berto of Edmonds, Wash; his companion Athlene Bewick of Silverton; dear friends Gary and Carlene Truitt of Wallace; Tom is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, two brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Silver Wood Good Samaritan Chapel of Silverton with Gary Truitt officiating. A reception will follow services at the Silver Wood Chapel. Inurnment will be held at the Nine Mile Cemetery of Wallace.
Shoshone Funeral Services of Kellogg is entrusted with arrangements.
