George W Cole, died at 3:10 p.m. yesterday at St. Johns Hospital where he was a medical patient for several weeks. He was 71 years old. Mr. Cole was a farmer he was born near Blue Mounds and later lived at Mt. Auburn. He Came to Springfield 38 years ago and had made his home here since. He continued to maintain an active interest in farming until his illness. He leaves his wife Blanche Flora; sons, George W (Lucille) and Charles E(Evelyn) both of Springfield Illinois; stepson James Floville of Los Angeles, California; daughter Mrs. Etta (Robert) Rape and Mrs. Alberta ( Dwight) Creighton both of Springfield; stepdaughters, Mrs. Jess Colvin; Mrs. Rose Pollack all of Springfield Illinois and Mrs. Evelyn Matney of Arkansas. He also leaves a half brother, Lorne Rule of Rochester Illinois. A step brother John Rule of Clinton Illinois and a sister Mrs. Myrle (William) Gillock of Chicago Illinois. There are 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Bisch Memorial Home. Funeral services 10 a.m. with Rev. Donald J Finley officiating. Burial Roselawn Cemetery
