CANNON CHILD DIES OF POLIO; FIRST CASE HERE

Coshocton county's first polio case of 1950 today had ended fatally for 3 year old Robert Allen Cannon, son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert D Cannon,239 Burt Ave, this city.
The boy died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday in Children's Hospital, Columbus, where he had been removed from his home Thursday night. He had become ill Sunday. The cause of death was determined in an autopsy in Columbus yesterday.
Dr. G W Stelzner, City Health Commissioner, said no other cases of polio have been reported this year.
Robert Allen Cannon was born Dec. 13, 1946 in this city, a son of Robert E & Dortha Wiggins Cannon, who survive.Also surviving is a sister, Nancy Ann, 8 years old, of the home.
The child's grandfather, Robert Emmett Cannon, was killed about two weeks ago when an automobile he was riding in, and driven by his son, Robert E., was struck by a train at Waggoner's Crossing, west of Newcomerstown as they were enroute to the Coshocton against Dover football game. The boy was riding in the car at the time of the accident.
Funeral services for the boy will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Fr. John W Kerrigan will officiate and burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.
