DEATH: Obituary and newspaper clipping:
Harry Fairbanks, 71, longtime Dupree area resident, died at Eagle Butte Community Hospital Wednesday morning.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ, Dupree, South Dakota. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis under the dircetion of Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, South Dakota.
Mr Fairbanks was born Oct. 21, 1907, to Walter and Emma Fairbanks at Geddes and the family moved to Maurine. On Feb 7, 1934, he maried Dorothy E. Schetnan at Bison. They lived at Maurine until 1941 when they moved to a ranch northwest of Dupree. In 1953 they moved into Dupree where he operated a garage until his retiremnet.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Harry and Kenneth of Sturgis, and Donald of Rapid City; two daughters, Mrs Jack (Joan) Seymour, Sturgis and Mrs Bud (Joyce) Stapert, Midland; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Vernon of Spearfish, and two sisters, Mrs Iver Thingelstad, Spearfish and Gladys Cossairt, Rancho Cordova, California.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Dewey, and two sisters, Alice and Dorothy.
