Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Fairbanks Munroe, who died at her home early Tuesday morning, will be held here Friday.
The 1:30 p.m. rites are set at the First Presbyteran Church, Sturgis, SD with Rev. Charles Markman officiating. Burial will be in Bear Butte Cemetery under the direction of the F.O. Jolley Funeral Home
Mrs. Munroe was born Aug. 17, 1902 in Iowa. She lived at Geddes and moved with her family to Maurine in 1908. She attended school at Maurine and later at Spearfish Normal.
On March 2, 1922, she was married to Everet Munroe at Cedar Canyon. They lived on a ranch near Stoneville until 1955 when they moved to Newell. She was a member of the Newell Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Barbara Jensen, Boulder Canyon; three sons, Albert, Stoneville; Walter, Sturgis, and Judd, Redfield; two sisters, Gladys Cossairt, Pondosa, California, and Helen Thingelstad, Spearfish; three brothers, Vernon Fairbanks, Sturgis, and Lawrence and Harry Fairbanks, both of Dupree, and six grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded her in death.
