Lawrence E. Cauble, 84, of Fillmore died at 10 a.m. Monday, February 24, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was born Feb. 2, 1890 in Montgomery County, a son of Henry and Syrena McCaslin.
He married Callie Pope in 1915. He later married Pansy Matthews, who died in 1970. He married Ada Hayes January 6, 1973. He was a World War I veteran and a retired farmer.
Survivors are his wife, Ada; son, Leon of Bingham; daughter, Mrs. Gwendolyn Henderson of Bloomington; 6 Step Children; sister, Mrs. Nellie Riedell, Sacramento, California; 21 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Allen-Miller Funeral Home, Fillmore, with Rev. Louie Thiele officiating. Mrs. Edna Allen was organist and Nelvin Williams, vocalist. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore. Military services were given by the Nokomis WW I veterans.
