Visitation will be until 7 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia for Lloyd E. Cranston, 78, of Visalia who died Sunday.

A graveside service is scheduled from 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lindsay Cemetery.

Born in Huron, S.D., he had lived in Visalia since 1970. He was a World War II U.S. Army verteran who served in the North African Theater of Operations. Upon being discharged, he moved to California and in 1945 he married the former Faye D. Gandy in Lindsay. She survives him.
Retiring in 1977, he had worked as a maintenance man for Tulare County. He was a member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Ken Cranston of Visalia; a daughter, Carolyn Phillips of Porterville; three sisters, Alma Bever of El Cajon, Ella Rossman of Enumclaw, Wash., and Fern Diede of Madison, S.D.; and six grandchildren.
