Willie H. "W.H." Conerly, 91, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning July 10, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Okolona, Mississippi and had been a resident of Kingsport since 1945. Mr. Conerly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was owner/operator of Conerly's Union 76 and Wrecker service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Jo Conerly Richard; parents, Preston and Ethel Bush Conerly; two sisters, Mamie Jackson, Emma Roebuck; two brothers, Walter Conerly and Preston Conerly, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mildred Conerly of the home; son, David Conerly and wife Zenda of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Kathi Graham and husband, Eddie, Karen Sensabaugh and husband Corey and Aliceson Collins and husband, Ken; six great grandchildren, Eric Graham and wife, T.J., Heather Odham and husband, B.J., Taylor Graham, Courtney Newland, Kristen Terry and husband, Andy and Conner Collins; five great great grandchildren, Joshua Cody, Aaliyah Graham, Drew Odham, Ashton Odham and Kennedy Terry; two sisters, Ruby Ballard of Pickens, AL and Joanne Westbrook of West Point, MS; brother, James H. Conerly and wife Joyce of Myrtle Beach, SC; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday July 12, 2012 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 13, 2012, 2012 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.

A military graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with American Legion Post 3 and Gate City Post 265 conducting the rites. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
