Miss Mary R. Gross, well know in musical circles, died yesterday morning [Dec. 7] at the residence, 707 Whitaker street, after several weeks' illness. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gross, both of whom have been dead for some years. Miss Gross sang in the choirs of a number of Savannah churches, including Christ Church, St. John's Episcopal Church, Trinity Church and others.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the residence, followed by interment in the family lot at Laurel Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. John E. White, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will conduct the services. The pallbearers will be Frank W. Williams, Thomas F. Walsh, George J. Orr, Dr. J. Reid Broderick and Livingston McLaws.

Miss Gross is survived by four sisters, Mrs. W. H. Fleetwood, and the Misses Marian, Jessie and Clifford Gross; a brother Walter W. Gross, and a number of nieces and nephews.
