Pauline White Obituary

Pauline Virginia Baker White, 84, of Celestial Lane, Statesville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at the Brian Nursing Center. Mrs. White was born May 27, 1922, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late James Partee Baker and Nettie Goforth Baker. She attended Iredell County Schools and in May of 1941 was married to Clarence William White, who died Oct. 18, 2006. She was a member of Iredell Heights Church of God and had worked at Hill Haven Nursing Home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. White was preceded in death by three sons, Eddie White, Grady White and Elmer White, along with four brothers, Julius Baker, Charlie Baker, Will Baker and Hugh Baker, and by three sisters, Effie Summers, Nell Laws and Helen Baker. Mrs. White is survived by five daughters, Wilma W. Houston of Mooresville, Gladys W. Smith (Mike) of Stony Point, Hazel W. Fox of Statesville, Mary Katherine W. Goforth (Rodney) of Statesville and Marie White (Greg) of Statesville; a son, Clarence Junior White (Lola) of Statesville; 10 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. White will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. B. N. Black will officiate and internment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Members of the family will be assembled at their respective homes but will visit with friends on Saturday 1 to 2 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. White.
