As to how I'm related, Sarrah Elizabeth Dunlap Johnson's father, W O. Dunlap,
was my great-great-great-grandfather's brother. W. O. Dunlap and all his
brothers (except for my great-great-great-grandfather) and his sister and his
parents all moved to Coosa County, AL from Georgia before 1850. My
3-great-grandparents died in 1855 in Heard County, GA, leaving 6 orphans. And
since my mother lives in Elmore Co., AL, I'd done some research on W. O.
Dunlap's family. He and his parents are buried in Carolina Cemetery in Elmore
Co., AL. I've taken photos of their graves. And by the way, Elmore Co., AL was
formed from part of Coosa County in 1865. That's why William Andrew Johnson
shows up in the 1860 cenus in Coosa County and in the 1870 and 1880 census in
Elmore County, AL.
.. And here is an article I found about Sarrah and Andrew's marriage:
.. The Wetumpka Times, Jan 5, 1881: Married: At the residence of the bride's
parents on the 26th by Rev. Mr. Chastain, Andrew Jonson and Miss S. E. Dunlap,
daughter of W. O. Dunlap, Esq, of Sykes Mill, in this county. Also at the same
time and place, by the same clergyman, Mr. Chas. Collin and Miss L. A. Dunlap, a
sister of the one named above.
