Winifred Esther Troxel of Iola died Friday, Nov 27, 1992, at Moran Manor. She was 87 years old. She was born Sep 27, 1905, near Thayer in Wilson County, the daughter of Lon L and Valeda (Falls) Maxwell.

Mrs Troxel worked for Ableson Cleaners, Peter Pan Cleaners and Iola Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She was a member of Iola Saddle Club for many years and also was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mona Vetrto of Burlington; five sisters, June Savant of Pasadena, Texas, Juanita Boone of Sacramento, Calif, Georgia Lee Bacon of Shreveport, La, Violet Romer of Brookshire, Texas, and Faye Powell, Lawrence; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Troxel, and two sisters, Hazel Williams and Veda Maxwell.

Funeral services will be at 2pm on Monday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels, with the Rev Waylon Ingle officiating. Burial will be in Gas City Cemetery.
