Mrs. Marie Avery Thigpen, age 92 of Princeton, Texas passed away on Friday, August
15, 2014.

Born Saturday, July 08, 1922 in Chatham, Louisiana, she was a long time member of
Hebron Baptist Church and previously served as secretary-treasurer of the Hebron
Cemetery fund for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and
friends and loved crocheting, quilting, cooking and will be remembered for her
famous angel food cakes.

Mrs. Thigpen was preceded in death by her Parents, Joel Herbert and Orlean Doyal
Avery; Husband, Crafton Thigpen; Siblings, Johnnie, Cecil, Herman, Ernest, Benton,
Kenneth, Corinne, Maureen and Melba.

Those left to cherish her memory include her Son, Wayne Thigpen and wife Jeannette,
Princeton, TX; Grandsons, Jody Thigpen and Fiance Christina Suter, Richardson, TX
and Michael Thigpen and wife Amy, Gunter, TX; Great-Grandchildren, Madison Thigpen
and Blake Thigpen; Brother, Charles Avery and wife Polly, Mena, AR; Sister, Myrtle
Feazel and husband Melvin, West Monroe; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 18 at Southern Funeral Home, from
5:00 PM until 8:00 PM , and again on Tuesday, August 19 at Hebron Baptist Church,
from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Hebron
Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Green officiating. Interment will follow in Hebron
