STAUNTON — Madeline Argenbright Rodeffer, 83, of 358 National Ave. died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, in King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 10, 1924, in West Augusta, she was the daughter of Emmett Clarence and Nettie (Nichols) Argenbright.

She was a graduate of Churchville High School and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, VFW Post 2216 Ladies Auxiliary and Woodrow Wilson Lioness Club.

On Aug. 6, 1949, she married Cline E. "Pete" Rodeffer, who preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2000. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick M. Argenbright, in January 1982. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by cousins, including Ellen Nichols Wiseman, John Nichols, Peggy Nichols McCormick, Dorser Nichols and Mary Faye Cason; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend and neighbor, Louise Fitzgerald.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Christ United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Ashley, with burial in Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville.

Active pallbearers will be Dick Rexrode, Benjamin Zinkhan, Dwight Cason, Charles Whisman, Carl Shover, Danny Cline and Emory Wiseman.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Weiford-Bates Bible class.
