Elizabeth was the ninth of 14 children born to Lucinda (Armstrong) and Henry Brewer. Henry was a tenant farmer moving about Steuben County NY.

Elizabeth's siblings were Angeline b 1830, Mary b 1833, Belah b 1835, Thomas J. b 1837, Hendrick "Henry" b 1838, James Nelson b 1840, Ellen (Helen) b 1842, Levi b 1843, Adaline b 1844, Ida Malissa b 1852, Jane (Jennie) b 1853, Eliza b 1855, and Julia Frances b 1858.

In Rushville, Yates Co., New York on December 30, 1865, Elizabeth married first cousin, Eliphalet Armstrong, a blacksmith who also served in the Civil War. They had five children -

Henry S. born 1867, married Sarah E. West in 1888, and died in 1899 in Avoca Steuben NY.

Fred born 1869, married Minnie Lyon in 1893, and died 1948 in Seattle King NY.

Delmar born 1870, married Lottie Lewis in 1893, then married Blanche Moore sometime before 1941, and died in 1947.

Anna E. born 1875, married Fred L. Brasted in 1869, died in 1903.

Florence Innez (Flossie) born 1880, first married Henry Moora in 1898, then she married Morley B. Groesbeck in 1907, married Joseph Dean sometime before 1920, died 1934.

The family stayed mostly in Cohocton Steuben County until shortly before Elizabeth died. She died at age 56 in North Cohocton.

Eliphalet had the large family stone placed when daughter, Anna died as he planned to be buried there also. His plans changed when a year later his wife Elizabeth died also. Later he along with his children, Fred, Delmar, and Flossie moved to Seattle King Co. Washington. He is buried there.
