DOVER- Frances Arbing Baccile, 89, died on June 26. She is now with her devoted husband of 56 years Dominic, her son Kenneth, her grandson Peter, and her beloved dog, Marley.

Mrs. Baccile was born on April 14, 1923 in Boston. Upon graduation from high school, she joined the Women Marines during World War II. At the end of the war she met and married Dominic Baccile, a career Marine. Upon his retirement, they moved to Elmira, NY, where Mrs. Baccile worked in the insurance industry for many years.

Mrs. Baccile was an avid quilter, winning prizes for her work in area quilt shows. She took up golf at the age of 70, which she enjoyed with her husband and many friends. She moved to East Dover in 2006 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Chris Cooke, and her three favorite companions, Michael and Bob, her golden retrievers and Charlie, her St. Bernard. She was fondly referred to as "president" of Valley Cab.

Mrs. Baccile is survived by three granddaughters, Kim Wenc and her husband Eric, of Wilmington, Courtney Kinney, of Dover, and Emily Baccile, of Chicago, IL. She has three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Tristen, and Riley. In addition she was fortunate to have in her life the children of Eric, Wenc, John, Jamison, Ana, and Brady.

Mrs. Baccile was buried at the Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY, with a military honor guard. There were no calling hours and private gravesite interment was held.

In lieu of flowers, any donation to the Grace Cottage Hospital, 185 Grafton Road in Townshend, would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Cottage for their outstanding care over the last six years, especially her doctor, Maurice Geurts.
