Y. City, Sept. 1905. Born Dec. 21, 1846, in London, England, son of Edward Marmaduke Clarke. Educated France and England (LL.D. from McGill Univ., Montreal) Chevalier of Legion d'Honeur, France, 1878; Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire, 1883; in 1902 created knight. Commander's Cross, Order of the Crown (Germany). Married Frances Susannah, daughter of Charles Collins, in 1866. Address: Metropolitan Museum of Art, N. Y. City, U.S.A.
