The world was blessed with the birth of Ruth Loree Burns on September 23, 1928 in Mills County, Texas. She was raised by her father Elzie Brown and mother Katy Bell (Kiser) Brown on the family farm. She worked and played on the farm with her brother Jack Brown and sister Althea (Brown) Smith, who have preceded Ruth in returning home to the open arms of our Loving Lord.

Ruth graduated from Pottsville School in 1946. The family moved to Odessa, where she attended Odessa College. She married Paul J. Burns in 1950, and they had four children, Marsha, Loree, Paul, and Scott. Husband Paul J. and son Scott preceded her in death. Ruth retired from Texas Instruments (Midland Plant), after many years of loyal service. She became a hoarder of people. She always had a place at the table for anyone that needed a good meal. Her house was your house if you needed a place to stay. She never had anything bad to say about anyone, she could always see the good in people. Her family was very important to her and she took excellent care of them. She moved to Stephenville in 1998, where she was an important member of Jeff and Marsha's household. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Marsha Owens and husband Jeff of Stephenville; Loree Cease of Ballinger, Texas; a son Paul W. Burns of Midland, Texas; nine grandchildren, James Looney and wife Belinda of Odessa; Kevin Goodman and wife Karen of Krum; Anthony Goodman and wife Renay of Odessa; Robin S. Goodman and wife Martha of Carrolton; Jeffrey C. Owens Jr. of Weatherford, Jeffrey R.
