William Henry Crooks, age 75, died at 1 am on the morning of June 23, 1930, in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky. He had been ill for two weeks from paralysis. William had resided in Ashland his entire life, born Apr 29, 1855, the son of John Crooks and Elizabeth Howell. He was married to Amanda Jane McIntire on Apr 23, 1878, she being the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Dixon McIntire; she preceded him in death in 1925. For the last eighteen years, he was employed by the Ashland Leather Company. He is survived by the following children: Alfred Crooks, James Crooks. Mary Crooks Fillmore all of Ashland; Elizabeth Crooks Crouch and Rosetta Crooks Pope both of Eskdale, WV; twenty-nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service on Tuesday morning at 10 am with the Rev. Charles Webb officiating. Burial to follow in the Dixon Cemetery, Westwood.
