Beginning May 1, 1989 Joe Craik Meadows began working for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad as a fireman. He was promoted to locomotive engineer in 1903. His last run between Nashville, Tenn and Birmingham, Ala on the "Pan American" was July 6, 1947. He married the former Sallie E. Barnett on May 19, 1897. They have eight children living of the 13 born to them. A family celebration to honor Mr. Meadows' 77th Birthday is planned at their home located at 632 Benton Ave., Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Meadows recently received his 50-year Honor Badge from the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers...Apr 1955 issue of "The Locomotive Engineers Journal" pg 265
