George H., of Oklahoma City passed away Friday, January 10, 2003. Mr. Bittner was born December 17, 1907 in Marshall, Texas. He came to Oklahoma as a young man in 1928. He was a longtime employee of Southwestern Cotton Seed Oil Co. of Oklahoma and Southwestern Supply & Machine Co. After retiring he returned to work for the Vernita King Lamp & Light Fixture of Oklahoma City. Mr. Bittner was very involved in establishing the 84th Street Church of Christ in 1968 and served as treasurer until the year 2000.

Mr. Bittner is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy E. Clark Bittner. He was preceded in death by his parents George Leonard Bittner and Rosa Harwell Bittner, a brother Leonard Bittner, two sisters Carrie McClaran and Eva Harralson. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 13 at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M Tuesday, at the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. VONDEL L. SMITH & SON MORTUARY 6934 S. Western.
